I never thought I'd rave about a glass mug + infuser, but I *love* this thing. I am an embarrassingly prodigious tea drinker (I've consumed 20 lbs of tea in the last few years, eek), and I only use this cup. It is very thin glass, but I am not terribly delicate, and it's survived approximately 5,000+ uses. Good lord, is that right?

The steel infuser makes a perfect cup of tea, and the size of the cup is just the right size to keep it hot while drinking it. (Any bigger and you'd have to drink pretty fast to not have a cold slurp at the bottom.)

I'm going to knock on a bunch of wood now that I've bragged about how long this thing has lasted.

UPDATE: Four months later, I finally killed my coveted mug, but it took a good 5-foot drop onto a hard floor to break it. I immediately ordered another (minus infuser).

We use a lot of borosilcate glass items. We've found them to be versatile, beautiful, and safe. We particularly like these mugs. The stainless infuser is nonreactive and simple; the lid is awesome for steeping, keeping the beverage warm, and as a drip coaster for the infuser; the glass mug is generous in size, safe for hot water, and lovely to look at and hold. Borosilicate glass is strong but brittle and will crack with shocks of temperature or when dropped - with care these provide safe sipping and aesthetic pleasure.

At first it felt a little scary. (added 2009 - I have two and they still look great and work great.) It was so lightweight that I was afraid I'd smash it the first time I bumped it, or I'd break off the handle, but it's stronger than it looks. I love the concept, and the way it works. The infuser fits the rim of cup perfectly. The lid holds in the steam. The clear, clean glass lets me enjoy the beauty of the tea as it steeps and know when it's just right for me. I get two cups from one batch of leaves. Just leave them in the infuser and pour more water over them to brew a second cup. Also easy to clean. I may order a second just in case I do break it. I also LOVE Adagio teas. Best tea I've ever had. I didn't fully appreciate tea until I tried theirs with this infuser cup. I was blown away by their Casablanca Twist green tea.

Two years later: I am still using and loving this tea infuser. In fact, I have bought several for gifts and a second one for me us use at the office. It still looks great. Still love their teas too.
